Dominant Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.

Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
Aryna Sabalenka ended the season with an impressive twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight season.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.

A Year of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Statistics

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.

She received nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a new level".
