The Former President's System of Consequences and Incentives

The ex-president's insatiable appetite for revenge has rapidly evolved into a structured apparatus. During the year since his election, the chief executive's fury and caprices have taken on the shape of government actions in a manner reminiscent to past repressive systems. Government personnel who resist his demands are immediately fired and substituted by supporters. Political officials who challenge him risk legal action, trial and penalties. Opponents have been labeled under executive directives as “unpatriotic”, “anti-Christian” and “opposing economic freedom”, and threatened with criminal charges as “security threats”.

Federal Agencies Transformed

All instance involving legal action of Trump's enemies and immunity for his allies demonstrates its own distinct features. Yet, notwithstanding their specific form, they exemplify manifestations of what has arisen as a calculated technique. These incidents are anything but random. Trump's cleansing of Department of Justice attorneys and law enforcement agents, alongside his appointment of loyalists in senior posts, began swiftly, soon took on a pattern, and has now been molded into a regime. DoJ and the Federal Bureau have been transformed into ideological organizations under his direct orders to execute his directives. Wrongdoing has been made normal. It constitutes the system of punishment.

Management is focused with penalizing the chief's perceived adversaries than they are with defending our public welfare.

Internal the Apparatus

The foundation of this framework has been revealed in the court filing of three previous top FBI agents lodged in the ninth month in the judicial system in DC against top official a senior appointee and attorney general Pam Bondi for unlawful firing in “a campaign of payback against them for what the accused deemed to be a refusal to exhibit adequate devotion”. The document states that one official, the ex- interim leader, details a conversation in which he “openly acknowledged the unlawfulness of his actions”.

Driscoll had tried to protect law enforcement officers from being dismissed, the lawsuit claims. He told him that “they” – interpreted by Driscoll to be the White House and DoJ – had instructed him to fire anyone who they identified as having been involved in a legal probe against Trump. The filing continues: “Patel clarified that he had to terminate the individuals his superiors told him to dismiss, because his chance to retain his own position was contingent on the dismissal of the personnel who handled matters involving the leader. Patel noted that there was nothing he or him could do to stop these or any other terminations, because ‘the bureau tried to place the chief in detention and he recalls it clearly.’” Once the official informed Patel he was breaking the agency's own policies, Patel reportedly said “he understood that and he realized the essence of the immediate dismissals were likely illegal”.

Widespread Consequences

Since his alleged acknowledgment to Driscoll, the DoJ and the FBI have been gutted and repurposed for Trump's retribution system. Several of the agency's top officials were fired or compelled to leave in the first days of the administration. Roughly thousands of lawyers at the justice department have agreed to a “early exit scheme”. At least multiple DoJ lawyers, among them those in the southern district of New York, stepped down in protest over what they regarded as ideological pressure in dropping the corruption case against the city leader, a political figure, in as a trade for his cooperation with Trump's ICE roundups of immigrants. The public integrity section of the justice department, which handles ethical violations, has been diminished to two attorneys. The civil rights division has been devastated: seventy percent of its staff has left. 33% of executives at DoJ have resigned. The unit enforcing environmental law has experienced the exit of a majority its leadership.

Incentives and Penalties

Concerning the legal matter, the interim prosecutor for the NY office, she, stepped down in dissent against what she described as the “quid pro quo”. A key figure, Trump's “immigration leader,” showed up as the implementer with the mayor on Fox News to announce: “Should he fail to deliver, I'll be back in New York City.”. And, another figure, previously the senior DoJ official and a past legal representative, who brokered the arrangement, was awarded an court role, a potential springboard to the highest court.

Trump's exemption for crimes committed while in office, awarded by the extraordinary ruling of the GOP-led on the highest court, thus thwarting his criminal case over the Capitol riot and safeguarding his political viability for the 2024 election, is the foundation stone on which he stands to defend his loyalists. With such immunity, he has been empowered to permit misconduct. The effect of the supreme court decision infuses his administration and the Republican Party completely. Trump v United States has metastasized. As a past leader's legal adviser John Dean said about the Watergate
