Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by remarking that an associate could have acted when the choice to comment on the passing was made.
