Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Guard Members to White House

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Tragic Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump told reporters. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the head of her former high school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Policy Changes

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and cease issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told the program that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” he addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
