The incident caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
